LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy October 1st! We begin the month with some foggy morning skies ahead of a few afternoon and evening rain showers. This rain chances comes ahead of a job front that will be sliding through the area late tonight into the day on Wednesday. This front will bring us a shot of refreshing air and finally clear the skies out. Rainfall amounts on Tuesday will remain generally light, with locations receiving less than a tenth of an inch. The best chance of seeing any rain showers will be between mid-afternoon hours through around midnight in Lexington.

On the backside of this front we will struggle to get out of the upper 60s and low 70s on Wednesday. This will be followed by the coolest night of the week. Most locations will wake up Thursday morning to temperatures in the upper 40s and low 50s.

We are expected to warm up though Thursday and Friday afternoons. Thursday we will range from the mid-to-upper 70s, while Friday many locations will hit near the low 80s.

The weekend looks mainly dry with seasonably warm temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s. Model data indicates we could see another, slightly stronger, cold front sweeping through the area Sunday into Monday. This could bring a quick rain chances, followed by a shot of cooler air.
