A bicyclist was flown to a local hospital in Nashville after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Clarksville. 

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A bicyclist was flown to a local hospital in Nashville after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon in Clarksville. 

According to the Clarksville Police Department, the crash took place at approximately 4:45 p.m. near the McDonald’s in the 1600 block of Ft. Campbell Boulevard.  


Tennessee has averaged more than 1,500 pedestrian-involved crashes per year since 2010

Authorities reported that the bicyclist was hit in front of the McDonald’s, resulting in the closure of all southbound lanes. 

She was flown to a Nashville hospital to be treated for her injuries. Officials say the extent of her injuries remain unknown at this time.

Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes until investigators can clear the scene.
