SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10)– New York State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on the northbound side of the Northway on Tuesday. The crash took place just north of the Exit 14 off-ramp.
On October 1 around 4:52 p.m., troopers responded to the scene of a two-car crash, in which one of the vehicles had rolled over multiple times. The driver of the overturned car, later identified as Makenzie Minkler, 25, of Rensselaer, was taken to Saratoga Hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
State police say the initial collision resulted in a separate reactionary three-car crash. No injuries were reported in the second crash.
The exit ramp and the northbound right lane were closed for about four hours while law enforcement operated in the area. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
