A Thai man is taking legal action against his ex-girlfriend, who tricked him into transferring 500,000 baht to fund her gambling, claiming the money was for their dream wedding.
The victim, 38 year old Jaruwat, filed a complaint against his ex-girlfriend at the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB)‘s complaint centre today, October 3. Jaruwat said he was the victim of a romance scam. His ex-girlfriend, Meen, now has a new boyfriend after he refused to transfer her more money.
According to Jaruwat, he was in a relationship with Meen for eight months. She introduced him to her family and friends, which made him trust and love her more. Meen then asked him to get engaged, requesting 450,000 baht in cash and 83,000 baht in gold.
