JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Thursday night near Bees Ferry Road and Highway 17.
Officers were dispatched to the area at 8:37 p.m. and discovered a vehicle on Savannah Highway between Bees Ferry Road and Main Road.
Inside the vehicle, they found a single adult occupant who was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and no other injuries have been reported. Authorities are urging motorists to expect delays on Savannah Highway as detectives continue their investigation.
The Charleston Police Department is asking for witness assistance. If anyone was driving on Savannah Highway near Parkers Kitchen between 8:30 and 8:40 Thursday evening, they are asked to call 843-720-2422 and request to speak with the on-duty central detective.
