GREENPORT, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Officials are investigating a Thursday night fire at a Greenport home. The fire took place at 71 Ten Broeck Ave.
The fire chief said the call for the fire came in just after 8:50 p.m., and crews had the fire knocked down and the scene cleared after about two hours.
Officials said a cooking fire caused the larger blaze. People inside the home fled the scene, and no injuries were reported.
It remains unclear the extent of the damage to the house. The fire remains under investigation.
