A pedestrian was killed after reportedly being hit by a vehicle near Nashville International Airport early Sunday morning.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a vehicle near Nashville International Airport early Sunday morning.

According to Metro police, around 1:40 a.m., a Kia Sorento was driving west on Old Murfreesboro Pike near Faircloth Lane when the vehicle struck a man who was lying in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim was identified as a 57-year-old man. Efforts are underway to contact his family.

Officers on the scene determined there were no signs of impairment in the victim or the driver. Officials are still investigating if the Kia was the first vehicle to hit the man.
