CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP)–October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the annual campaign created in 1985 to increase awareness of the disease.

While both men and women can be diagnosed with the disease, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), breast cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the United States.


Experts urge early detection for breast cancer awareness

This week on 22News InFocus we’re discussing prevention, diagnosis, and the latest treatment options available for breast cancer, as well as support services for patients and caregivers. We’ll also be talking about the 31st annual Rays of Hope Walk & Run, the largest breast cancer fundraiser in the region.
