CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A little over five years since his death, Clarksville investigators are still trying to solve the murder of a young man who had just turned 18 earlier that year.

Antony Richardson was found around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019, laying on the side of Britton Springs Road with what police described as “severe injuries.”

Officers said he had been shot at least one time in the head. The teen was taken to TriStar Skyline Medical Center, where officials said he fought for his life before ultimately passing away a few days later.

Richardson had registered to become an organ donor when he turned 18. Shortly after his death, staff, family and friends lined the hospital halls as Richardson was wheeled to the operating room with a Donate Life blanket draped over him.

A video of the “hero walk” was shared thousands of times across social media. In the post, Richardson’s family said his heart went to a young boy in Texas.

“Because of the young man he was he wanted to save lives. He accomplished that this last week because he was an organ donor,” the post said. “I’m proud to say a child got a second chance at life because of him.”

But even five years later, it remains unclear exactly what happened to Richardson. Detectives have identified a few potential persons of interest over the years, but still need more information to solve the case.

Earlier this year, the Clarksville-Montgomery County Crime Stoppers Board voted to increase the cash reward amount for information in several cold cases, including Richardson’s.
