A hiker who was reported lost on the Batchelor Brook trailhead in Granby was rescued by firefighters with the use of its department’s UTV.

GRANBY, Mass. (WWLP) – A lost hiker was rescued from a trail in Granby on Sunday.

According to the Granby Fire Department, crews were sent to the Batchelor Brook trailhead on Batchelor Street on Sunday for a report of a lost hiker. At 7:23 p.m., crews in an off-road UTV unit found the hiker and brought them out of the trail.

Although Sunday was a nice day with sunny skies around 70 degrees, the sun set at 6:20 p.m. making it harder to see in wooded areas. With the days getting darker earlier, the temperatures also decrease with temperatures expected to be around 50 degrees.
