SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A special guest this Monday evening at a Springfield church as the “season of the Holy Cross” continues across the nation.

Saint Gregory Armenian Church in Indian Orchard received a Pontifical Visit from ‘His Holiness’, Aram this Monday evening. Aram has been a peacemaker in the Middle East since 1995. His visits to various parishes are seen to strengthen national and religious values and bring the faithful together, especially in this time of uncertainty.

“It’s rejuvenating the faith of the community, he’s speaking to the youth, but he’s trying to reach out to the entire community and to convey his message. And you know he’s got a number of messages he wants to give to them to provide the guidance that you normally get from the head of the church,” said Aram Sarafian, Chairman of the Porcelain Executive Council.

After Monday, he is set to visit Worcester County next. He will be heading across New England and the Midwest until October 23rd.
