JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCBD) – Sandbags will be available for James Island residents beginning Wednesday morning.

James Island town officials said they are closely monitoring Hurricane Milton and its potential impacts on the Lowcountry. Right now, the area could see moderate winds, rain, and tidal flooding in low-lying areas.


Charleston to open 5 parking garages ahead of coastal flooding threat

The town will have a limited supply of free sand and bags available at James Island Town Hall (1122 Dills Bluff Road) from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Wednesday for residents to build sandbags.

On-site staff will be available for assistance if needed.
