In February 2023, Peraza Varela was accused of sexually assaulting a female in her car. The victim’s car had been stuck in mud so she called a family friend, Peraza Varela, and when he helped her, she offered to pay him, but he suggested she could pay him in other ways, according to the Ulster County District Attorney’s Office.

This is when Peraza Varela allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, restraining her from leaving. She called her husband immediately after and was taken to the hospital to get medical attention for her injuries.
