NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An arrest report is revealing more about what led to a shooting in the parking lot of Nashville apartment complex earlier this year, leaving a man critically injured.

The shooting happened Tuesday, May 7, around 6 p.m. in the 2700 block of Whites Creek Pike.

At the scene, officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department told a News 2 crew that a man was shot in the chest after suspects tried to rob him.

The victim was reportedly brought to TriStar Centennial Medical by a relative before he was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to be treated for critical injuries.

According to an arrest report, one of the suspects has been identified as 21-year-old Malik Guy.

Authorities said Guy and an unidentified individual robbed the victim of his tennis shoes. At some point, the victim was shot in the chest with a firearm.

Guy was taken into custody on Thursday, Oct. 10. He is charged with attempted criminal homicide, especially aggravated robbery and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.

Booking records show the 21-year-old is being held in Metro Jail on a $505,000 million dollar bond.
