A family is without a home Friday night following a kitchen fire on Parker Street.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A family is without a home Friday night following a kitchen fire on Parker Street.

According to Fire Captain Drew Piemonte, the Springfield Fire Department was called to 770 Parker Street around 3 p.m. for a reported kitchen fire. No injuries were reported and seven dogs were rescued and are okay.

American Red Cross will be assisting the family and their seven dogs. The Arson and bomb squad is investigating the cause of the fire.
