TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Remember that October night when we looked up to the sky and got to experience the Northern Lights right here in New York? It’s quite fitting that the beautiful phenomenon is the exact title of the opening concert for Albany Pro Musica’s 2024-2025 season.
The concert theme was planned years ago, but inspired by the same Aurora Borealis we saw days ago. The performance takes place at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on October 20th at 3:00 P.M., with a pre-concert talk at 1:45 P.M.
Bradley Ellingboe is the Guest Conductor of this concert featuring music from Scandinavia, where the Northern Lights are most frequent and intense.
Rex Smith, Albany Pro Musica Board Chair and singer, stopped by NEWS10 for an interview previewing the concert. You can watch it in the video player above.
