NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has died after suffering critical injuries from a collision with a food truck, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

A Monday press release said that 48-year-old Favian Ubense Cruz-Vargas was standing between the food truck and a building in the 2800 block of Lebanon Pike on Friday to help ensure the driver did not back into the building.

Cruz-Vargas reportedly “became pinned between the truck and the building” due to inexperience on the part of he driver, 42-year-old Omar Martinez-Gonzalez.


1 injured in South Nashville shooting

Martinez-Gonzalez was ultimately charged for not having a valid driver’s license or proof of insurance, the MNPD added.
