NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Three teens were arrested and three firearms — two of which had been reported stolen — were recovered after patrol officers from the West Nashville Precinct quickly responded to reports of vehicle break-ins at an apartment complex.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the break-ins were reported in the 8200 block of McCrory Lane. The witnesses reportedly offered “an excellent suspect/vehicle description.”

Authorities said they found vehicles that had been broken into and, shortly afterward, spotted the suspect car, a silver Toyota driven by 19-year-old Abdalla Abdikadir. The teen allegedly drove away from the scene, but officers successfully deployed spike strips at the exit from the complex.

The car pulled off the side of Interstate 40 East following a brief pursuit. Police said Abdikadir and a 16-year-old male passenger stayed in the vehicle while another passenger — identified as 18-year-old Hussein Hassan — tried to run away, but Hassan was quickly caught.

According to officials, three guns were recovered from the Toyota, including two that were reported stolen on Sept. 15. One of those guns was taken from a victim who told law enforcement he had taken a nap in his car on 4th Avenue South when three suspects in black masks approached him and robbed him at gunpoint. The second gun was allegedly stolen from a vehicle parked outside of a Thompson Lane home.

The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office reported Hassan and Abdikadir were both booked into the Downtown Detention Center on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

Meanwhile, Abdikadir is facing eight counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, two counts of possession of a stolen firearm, and evading arrest by motor vehicle, authorities said. He is being held on a $47,500 bond.

In addition, police reported the 16-year-old is charged in Juvenile Court with gun possession during the commission of a felony, juvenile handgun possession, and burglary of a motor vehicle.
