I was renting a bike (honda xadv 750) in Patong from a shop called BKR Motorbike & Big Bike For Rent (89 1, Tambon Patong, Kathu District, Phuket 83150, Thailand). This is my first time renting a bike in Thailand—my only other experience was renting in Bali, Indonesia.

They asked for my passport as a deposit, which I gave. After one day of using the bike, everything was fine until I slipped while refueling. It was raining, and the road was slippery, so the bike just fell on its side.

Now, the shop is charging me $570 USD to fix the bike. I’ve asked a few locals about the cost, and they all said it’s way overpriced.

I’m starting to think I might have been scammed, but I’m not sure. I’m 28, male, from Malaysia, and this has been a pretty expensive lesson for me. What do you all think—does this sound legit or like a scam

There’s a some of the scratches they claim it was me who doing it i was showing them the picture that i took because i know it’s already there then they show me the picture their took and its not there at all like the picture & videos i took literally pretty useless

Went to the police station & asked for it. They just told me to go fix it at honda shop. Useless?
