A Lawrence County deputy has been transported to a Nashville hospital via helicopter after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night.

LAWRENCE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A Lawrence County deputy has been transported to a Nashville hospital via helicopter after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night.

According to 911 director Chad Moore, authorities responded to a shots fired call just after 9:30 p.m. at the area of West Point Road and Waterloo Road. There is an ongoing investigation about the shots fired.

At some point, a Lawrence County deputy was struck by a vehicle. Moore added that the deputy was alert, but had to be transported via helicopter to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. The deputy’s condition is not known at this time.
