ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) – Republican Scott Bendett won his 107th New York Assembly seat in 2022 without an opponent. Two years later, he’ll be facing a challenger when he takes on Chloe Pierce in the November General Election.

Bendett, who is a former Rensselaer County legislator, says too many people are leaving the state of New York. Among the many reason why, he claims high taxes and a high cost of living are at the top of the list.

The republican says cutting taxes and cutting the red tape that he claims is keeping small businesses from thriving, will be a top priority if he wins re-election. He sat down with News10’s Christina Arangio to discuss the issues facing the 107th Assembly district, which encompasses Albany, Rensselaer, Columbia and Washington Counties.
