ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – There have been multiple changes around the Mountain West as conference realignment continues to make waves around college athletics. Mountain West commissioner Gloria Navarez spoke with KRQE Sports reporter Jared Chester during media days this week and shared her thoughts on the future of the league.

“With the additions of UTEP and Hawaii, I am really optimistic,” said Navarez. “I think there is a lot of fit, cultural, mission alignments, so we couldn’t be more excited.”

As for potential new members, Navarez could not disclose any schools in the mix. She did say that since there are now eight full time members, and the league is FBS eligible, the conference will continuing to analyze add members that will make the conference stronger.
