The statewide litter cleanup campaign will run from Friday, Oct. 18 through Sunday, Oct. 20.
“New Mexicans, it’s time to rally together to keep our land of enchantment beautiful. Join New Mexico State Parks teams as we kick off this exciting campaign. This effort isn’t just about keeping our state parks clean; it’s about preserving the enchanting landscapes, vibrant communities, and heritage we all cherish,” said State Parks Director Toby Velasquez.
According to the news release by the New Mexico State Parks, the beautification event is not only for state parks but also includes wildlife habitats and other areas frequented by people and animals.
Park entry fees will be waived for anyone wanting to volunteer in the beautification event, making it accessible to all. And if you have an Annual Pass, there is no extra charge to enter.
According to the New Mexico State Parks, volunteers are asked to wear long sleeves, closed-toed shoes, work gloves, sunscreen, water, and food or snacks, ensuring their safety and comfort during the event.
