A K9 unit with the Mt. Juliet Police Department helped apprehend multiple suspects after the agency engaged in an “active police pursuit.”

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Mt. Juliet Police Department (MJPD) and the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) engaged in an active pursuit on Friday night that ended in the apprehension of multiple suspects.

According to a post on X at 8:13 p.m., the agency said that there was an active police pursuit in the Mt. Juliet area and that drivers should watch for emergency vehicles.

In a 9:25 p.m. update, the MJPD posted that their agency received an alert from the Metro-Nashville Police Aviation unit about armed suspects involved in a Nashville carjacking.

The suspects reportedly exited Interstate 40 in the Providence area and officers with the MJPD were able to find the vehicle before engaging in a pursuit. The chase continued along South Mt. Juliet Road until the vehicle left the roadway near Hobson Pike and Smith Springs Parkway.

“Three suspects ran away on foot, but K9 Majlo swiftly apprehended one,” the post added. “The remaining suspects were later found by teams of Mt. Juliet and Metro-Nashville officers.”

Authorities recovered several firearms in the incident and the MJPD added that the investigation is ongoing. No serious injuries were reported.
