The protest was held near the location where a person was killed by a police-involved shooting.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – There was a protest following a shooting at Tewa Lodge on Friday, and two people have been arrested.

On Friday, authorities said they were conducting a code enforcement operation when the shooting happened. It killed one person.

Albuquerque Police Department (APD) has arrested Shawn Kinney and Emery Schmidt after they reportedly tried to enter the crime scene. APD released this video after saying ‘misinformation’ was being spread online about the arrests.


Video shows officers relocating mountain lion from NE Albuquerque

Schmidt is facing charges of battery upon a peace officer, and court records show they were also arrested at a pro-Palestine protest at UNM in April.

Kenny is facing separate charges including disorderly conduct.
