Chon Buri immigration officers recently intensified efforts to clamp down on illegal migrants in Pattaya following reports of foreign nationals soliciting money from customers at a local restaurant at the weekend.
The crackdown was initiated after the owner of an Arab restaurant on Soi 17 in South Pattaya raised concerns about a group of men, believed to be from Myanmar, who were disturbing tourists and residents by asking for money on Saturday, October 19.
Immigration officers quickly launched an operation to locate the suspects, using images shared by the community.
In addition to information from locals, officials tracked down a group of men drinking alcohol in an abandoned building and identified one individual, a 34 year old Myanmar national named Saw, who was confirmed by the restaurant owner as one of the individuals causing problems.
