KAHALA, Hawaii (KHON2) — Three people were hospitalized on Sunday, Oct. 20 following a critical motor vehicle collision in Kahala.

Honolulu police responded to a crash on Diamond Head Road, east of Poka Street.

It was reported that a 59-year-old man was speeding eastbound on Diamond Head Road before he lost control of his vehicle.

He traveled into the westbound lane of Diamond Head Road and collided with a parked car with two occupants inside.

Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the incident and transported the 59-year-old male driver to an area hospital in serious condition. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the incident.

The 34-year-old female passenger was also transported to the hospital in critical condition. Officials said she was wearing a seatbelt.

According to reports, the 28-year-old male in the parked car sustained minor injuries and refused further treatment.

His 26-year-old female passenger was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.
