MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — Authorities reported serious injuries were sustained in a Tuesday afternoon crash in Murfreesboro.

The Murfreesboro Police Department took social media at approximately 12:14 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22 to alert the public about a two-vehicle crash.

According to police, the crash happened on Veterans Parkway near Kingdom Drive. The portion of roadway will reportedly remain closed as crews work to clear the scene.

Westbound traffic is being rerouted onto Kingdom Drive to Overall Creek and to Jack Byrnes Drive, officials said. Meanwhile, eastbound traffic is being turned around. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes.

No additional details about the crash were immediately released.
