A total of $608,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding will go to the Mesa del Sol Non-Potable Re-Use Booster Pump and Reservoir Project. According to the county, this project consists of the design and construction of a re-use reservoir, booster pump and transmission lines for a re-use system at Mesa del Sol. The initial approved amount of $4.90 million was approved by the commission in September of 2021. However, due to cost increases, the bids received came in higher than expected.

The amendment also allows the use of $638,702 in surplus ARPA funding from the recently completed Kirtland Air Force Base Tijeras Interceptor Rehabilitation Project for the design and construction of a new sewage lift station that will service the Metropolitan Detention Center.

The funding was approved in a 5 to 0 vote.
