MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) — New details are emerging in the case of a woman charged with murder in connection with the grisly death of her mother. A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday in Robertson County District Court for Torilena Fields, 32, who is accused of murdering her mother, Trudy Fields, whose dismembered body was found outside her home in Mount Olivet.

This development follows the filing of an emergency protective order by Telby Fields, another daughter of the slain woman, the order was filed against her brother, Truitt Fields.

Telby filed the order just two days after Torilena’s arrest, claiming in her petition that Truitt had threatened her life. According to the petition, Telby claims that her brother “made threats to kill me” and “has people keep tabs on me.”

Telby Fields filed the protective order to prevent her brother from attending their mother’s funeral, stating in the petition, “Without it, I am next,” regarding the emergency protective order.

Wednesday’s hearing concluded with the case being sent to circuit court for a new arraignment, scheduled for November 12. Torilena Fields faces charges of murder, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with physical evidence.

Family members present at the hearing declined to comment.
