ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – The mayor of Roswell has confirmed another death from the recent flood there bringing the death toll to three people. The mayor also said a donkey at the zoo has died. More than 500 people were rescued from flood waters.
Historic rains caused widespread flooding throughout the area with the estimated total damage nearing $500 million. New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham declared a state of emergency for the Chaves County area which unlocked $1 million in state funding to help with relief efforts in and around Roswell
