BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – State wildlife agents are investigating the fatal shooting of a hunting dog in Berkeley County, the SC Department of Natural Resources said Wednesday.

An SCDNR agent was notified Wednesday morning about a shooting involving a hunting dog, the agency said. The officer responded to the incident location and identified a suspect.

The suspect was arrested and charged with shooting and killing a hunting dog and two counts of removing dog collars.

SCDNR did not identify the individual, but the agency said he would appear in court soon.

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
