The rescue effort was a joint effort between Cynthia Givens and Lauren McCarron, who noticed the bird in distress and took swift action to contain it until help could arrive. McCarron, a first-grade teacher, said it was a thrilling moment that she shared with her students the following Monday.

The eagle was safely brought to Tufts Wildlife Clinic for rehabilitation and care. The Massachusetts Environmental Police thanked both Givens and McCarron for their quick thinking and assistance in the rescue, which likely saved the eagle’s life.
