NEW MEXICO (KRQE) – Mostly pleasant weather is ahead in our region despite a weak pattern change later tonight into tomorrow, but the big change will come later next week.

Along with very clearer skies, drier air, and still mostly light winds, radiational cooling took place this morning, as temperatures were ranging from near the upper 20s to the 50s across New Mexico, once again slightly warmer compared to yesterday morning because of a warmer air-mass inbound.

Very clear skies will ensue for most of the day and as temperatures will rise, northwesterly to west-southwesterly winds will pick up a bit more today, drying out the atmosphere even more. From the morning school commute on into the afternoon, temperatures will eventually reach into the high 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s, well above normal for this time of the year with some records likely from Albuquerque to the south with even more snowmelt in The Northern Mountains.

Despite the increase in clouds later today with a few light showers possible late today into tomorrow in southwestern areas, as well as The Northern Mountains, precipitation will be not be the big story as with the more pleasant weather ahead, temperatures will mostly be way above normal despite a weak cold front coming through tomorrow morning, but a much bigger change will develop by next week.
