AUSTIN (KXAN) — Former President Donald Trump is recording a podcast and hosting a press conference during a day trip to Austin Friday.
He’s expected to speak to local and national media at 12:30 p.m. in east Austin about the border and immigrant crime. KXAN will stream his remarks in this story and on our Facebook page.
He will also join Joe Rogan for a taping of “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Rogan lives in Austin and his podcast, described on his website as “a long form conversation,” had more than 14.5 million subscribers on Spotify as of March and more than 17 million on YouTube.
Trump’s visit comes the same day his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, is rallying in Houston. The Hill reports she will focus on the effects of abortion bans in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade in 2022. Multiple outlets are reporting Beyoncé, who is from the city, will join her.
Trump’s visit is expected to affect traffic and lead to closures throughout the day.
