Mt. Juliet police apprehended a Nashville woman wanted out of Rutherford County for a shoplifting incident on Friday.

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — Mt. Juliet police apprehended a Nashville woman wanted out of Rutherford County for a shoplifting incident on Friday.

In a post to X, the Mt. Juliet Police Department said they performed a stop for a speeding violation on Interstate 40 Friday afternoon. The driver was reportedly clocked going at 91 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone.

Over the course of the stop, officers discovered that a passenger in the vehicle had “an active, full 50-sate extradition warrant” related to a Rutherford County shoplifting incident.

Mt. Juliet Police added that an investigation led to the recovery of $5,899 worth of suspected stolen merchandise from a recent shoplifting incident. The suspect was arrested on the outstanding felony warrant and detectives will reportedly coordinate with Kohl’s representatives to pursue additional charges and return the recovered items.
