HAMPDEN, Mass. (WWLP) – Fire crews are working to put out a brush fire in Hampden Saturday afternoon.


Red Flag Warning issued for western Massachusetts

According to the Hampden Police Department, fire crews are operating in the area of Glendale Road and Ames Road to contain a brush fire. It is being asked for residents to avoid the area if possible as additional crews are coming to help put out the fire.

Red Flag Warning is in effect for all of western Massachusetts Saturday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. for the potential of brush fires that could spread quickly due to dry and windy conditions. This means that critical fire weather conditions are occurring, and any fires that start may spread rapidly and become difficult to extinguish.
