Several days after more than $1 million worth of jewelry was reportedly stolen from a store in Nashville’s Woodbine area, authorities announced two people had been taken into custody in another state.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Several days after more than $1 million worth of jewelry was reportedly stolen from a store in Nashville’s Woodbine area, authorities announced two people had been taken into custody in another state.

According to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD), the armed robbery took place at Dubai Jewelry in the 3900 block of Nolensville Pike on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

At the scene, the store’s owner told News 2 that two people came into the building browsing for jewelry, and about five minutes later, a man entered the store and held two employees at gunpoint.

The store owner added that the suspects deployed pepper spray, pushed employees into a back room and made it out of the building with possibly up to $1.5-1.7 million in jewelry.

At MNPD’s request, officials said the Miami Beach Police Department arrested 34-year-old Orlando Valdes Hernandez and 38-year-old Milleni Garcia on Sunday, Oct. 27 for the Nashville robbery charges.

However, police said they are still looking for an unidentified third accomplice:

Officials said robbery detectives from MNPD’s Violent Crimes Division are working the case, with help from the Miami Beach Police Department, the FBI, and Nashville International Airport Police.
