Sunday is the 31st annual Rays of Hope Walk and Run for a cure for breast cancer.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Sunday is the 31st annual Rays of Hope Walk and Run for a cure for breast cancer.


Annual Halloween Party and Parade being held at Forest Park

The race will begin at the Temple Beth El on Dickinson Street and check-in is set to begin at 7:30 a.m., with the race stepping off at 8:30 a.m. This year’s race is being emceed by 22News’ own Taylor Knight and is a fundraiser towards a cure for breast cancer. 

This is the 31st year of the fundraiser and they have raised over $17.2 million in support of breast cancer care, research, and education. All of the money raised stays local, helping out individuals and their families affected by breast cancer.

Rays of Hope also provides grants to various community programs throughout western Massachusetts.

Walkers can choose from either a 2- or 5-mile walk and runners a 5-mile route in Springfield, according to a news release from Baystate Health. Registration for the walk will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by step-off at 10:30 a.m.
