Mt. Juliet police said the driver was wanted on six felony charges out of Nashville for failing to report as a registered sex offender and absconding from probation.

MT. JULIET, Tenn. (WKRN) — A wanted Nashville man was taken into custody in Mt. Juliet Sunday morning as a result of a traffic stop.

The Mt. Juliet Police Department posted on Facebook shortly after 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 that an officer had performed a traffic stop near Mt. Juliet Road and Old Lebanon Dirt Road for a truck with an expired tag from January 2022.

After investigating, authorities said they discovered the driver was wanted on six felony charges out of Nashville for failing to report as a registered sex offender and absconding from probation.

Officials only described the driver as a 38-year-old Nashville man, but they did say his original charges were related to attempted rape of a child offenses out of Sumner County. He had reportedly been unregistered since February 2022.

“Thanks to proactive policing and the commitment of our officers, another wanted individual is now in custody,” the department wrote on social media.

No additional details have been released about this incident.
