Deputies responded to Vista Village Drive shortly after 3 a.m. and found the victim with multiple stab wounds

A man was stabbed repeatedly in the back after getting into a fight with another man in Vista early Thursday, a sheriff’s official said.

Deputies responded to Vista Village Drive near Camino Patricia shortly after 3 a.m. The two men had gotten into an argument and as they were fighting the victim was stabbed multiple times in the back, sheriff’s Lt. Patrick Fox said.

The victim was transported to a hospital by paramedics and was expected to survive, a sheriff’s spokesperson said.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
