TOPEKA (KSNT) — Some customers in Shawnee County will need to get their trash out a day early next week.

The Shawnee County Solid Waste Department will not pick up trash Wednesday in observance of Juneteenth. Crews will return to work Thursday, June 20, according to a schedule from the Shawnee County Solid Waste Department.

Customers who normally get their trash picked up on Wednesday will instead get their trash picked up with customers on Tuesday, June 18. Everyone else will get their trash picked up on their normal day next week.

Shawnee County Solid Waste will not pick up yard waste or bulky items next week.
