TOPEKA (KSNT) – Topeka police arrested two people in connection to a recent series of vehicle theft investigations.
The Topeka Police Department (TPD) announced in a press release June 17 that officers executed a search warrant on June 14 in connection to numerous ongoing vehicle theft investigations in the 1100 block of SW 31st Street. As a result of the search warrant, officers recovered two stolen vehicles, stolen property along with a gun that was stolen 2019. Additional work by police revealed the use of financial cards.
Rosie Nichols with the City of Topeka said officers arrested a 46-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, both of Topeka, in connection to the investigations. They were booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on the following charges:
46-year-old
Possession of stolen property
Aggravated burglary
Criminal damage to property
Theft $25,000 <$100,000 from motor vehicle
Criminal use of financial card
Criminal possession of a weapon by felony
37-year-old
Aggravated burglary
Theft $25,000 <$100,000 from motor vehicle
Criminal use of financial card
Possession of stolen property
