NEW TOWN, ND (KXNET) — A New Town man died in a crash early Tuesday morning three miles east of the city.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), around 4 a.m., a John Deere 744 Payloader was traveling west with all its lights activated on Highway 23 near New Town when the driver, a 25-year-old man, saw a Honda CR-V, driven by an 18-year-old man, coming up behind the Payloader.
The driver of the Payloader merged to the shoulder and the driver of the CR-V hit the rear corner of the Payloader.
The Payloader driver was not injured, but the CR-V driver sustained fatal injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the NDHP.
