TOPEKA (KSNT) – One man has been arrested for armed robbery in southwest Topeka.
According to Public Safety Communications Specialist Rosie Nichols, Thursday after 9 p.m., officers from the Topeka Police Department responded to a reported disturbance involving a firearm inside of the Walgreens located at 1001 SW Topeka Blvd.
TPD have identified the suspect as Jesse J. Griffin, 39, of Topeka. Griffin fled from the scene when TPD arrived, and was later located in the 900 block of SW Topeka Blvd.
Griffin has been booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections with the following charges:
Aggravated assault; Use of a deadly weapon
Aggravated Robbery; Armed w/dangerous weapon
Aggravated Criminal Threat; Cause Terror, Evacuation
Use/possess w/intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body
