HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Smoke testing will be performed on the sanitary sewer system at the Hanover Industrial Air Park starting Friday.

According to the Hanover County Government, the smoke testing — which is part of an ongoing sanitary sewer rehabilitation project — is expected to begin on Friday, June 11, and end by Friday, June 28.

During this time, those in the area may see smoke coming from roof vents, manholes, storm inlets or holes in the ground.

The county said this smoke is “non-toxic, clean and harmless to humans and animals” and that the testing poses no fire hazard.
