BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The traffic signal at Broadway Avenue and Airport Road will be taken out of service on Wednesday, June 26 at 9:00 a.m.

It will not be replaced — instead east and west traffic will be free-flowing and north traffic will be controlled by a stop sign.

Drivers are encouraged to use caution while everyone adjusts to the new setup.

According to city officials, the traffic signal poles have reached the end of their life and traffic volumes are not high enough to satisfy the federal criteria to install a replacement traffic signal.

The new traffic setup will be reviewed in 90 days. If traffic operations at the intersection are good, the traffic signal will be permanently removed and the new setup left in place.
