CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Caroline County Sheriff’s Office is sending out a warning about people allegedly trying to scam the county’s residents through the mail.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the alleged scammers are sending letters to residents claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House and saying the resident has won a large cash prize.

Any Caroline residents who believe they have been targeted in this scam is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 804-633-5400.
