LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – A GoFundMe account has been created to help the family of Esmeralda Rodriguez Perez, the 28-year-old woman who died after being shot over the weekend in Lexington.
As previously reported, the Fayette County Coroner confirmed that Rodriguez Perez passed away at a hospital after being found shot on Betsy Lane early Sunday morning. The GoFundMe campaign has raised nearly $4,000 to assist her family with funeral expenses.
According to police, Rodriguez Perez was shot around 1 a.m. on Sunday. Investigators say a man who was also shot during the incident arrived at the hospital shortly after and is expected to recover.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
