Gallatin, Sumner County and state authorities are working to recover a body from the lake.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Both state agencies and units from multiple counties are working to recover a body from Old Hickory Lake.

A spokesperson with the Gallatin Fire Department told News 2 that their agency assisted the Wilson County EMA with a drowning call on Friday afternoon. The fire department reportedly made contact with the victim’s boat.

Wilson County law enforcement on the scene told News 2 that a family rented a pontoon boat when a man entered the water and never came back up. Authorities added that the rest of the family is safe.

Recovery efforts are underway. The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is also assisting with the recovery process.
